Halloween and its many costume parties are coming quick, and if you wear glasses, you may feel resigned to be Harry Potter, ahem, again.

Not so! Thanks to the brilliant article, “Got Glasses? Four-Eyed Halloween Costume Ideas,” I am filled with glasses inspiration.

Author Valerie David breaks down what she believes are the five “four-eyed” options:

1. Wear a mask.
2. Imitate a famous glasses wearer (Napoleon Dynamite anyone?).
3. Embrace the inanimate object within (finally, you can experience life as a spray cheese can).
4. Stick with boring… I mean, normal… (be a generic person: doctor, mail carrier, hobo).
5. Be P.H.A.T. Yes, I just harked back to “pretty hot and tempting.” Yes, you are jealous that I can pull that off. Yes, you CAN be P.H.A.T., ESPECIALLY with glasses.

So here’s my thank you to Valerie David for her inspiration. Love the ideas, love the attitude that glasses aren’t something to be ashamed of in a costume. Honestly: don’t lose the glasses, use the glasses.
