These glasses have a sideways "D" shape on the bottom part of the lens that is used for seeing near.

CR-39 : Standard plastic lenses with average thickness and weight. This material will tint darker than polycarbonate. These lenses are not recommended for higher prescriptions.Polycarbonate : Thinner, lighter and very impact resistant (polycarbonate is the same material bullet-proof glass is made of), this material is a great choice and what we recommend for most prescriptions.Extra Thin (1.6) : These lenses are thinner and lighter than CR-39 or Polycarbonate. Recommended for semi-rimless, rimless and high prescription glasses.Super Thin (1.67) : Our thinnest and lightest lenses, we recommend this material for high prescriptions as well as rimless and semi-rimless frames.
All of our glasses come free with
Anti-Scratch coating to reduce scratches and
UV Protection to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
We also recommend you get
Anti-Reflective coating, especially if you use your glasses on the computer or for driving. Anti-Reflective coating reduces reflections and glare that you might otherwise see. It also makes your glasses less noticeable on your face and is better for taking photographs, as you can see in the example below. Our premium anti-reflective coating is both
oleophobic , which means it repels oils, for example on your fingers, and
hydrophobic , which means it repels water and reduces smudging.
Tint : Apply a colored tint to your glasses, either gray or brown. CR-39 is the best material for tinted glasses, although any material will work.Photochromic : These lenses will go from clear to tinted in under a minute when you step into the sun, and then will "transition" back to clear when you go back inside. Choose from either gray or brown.
How to Read Your Prescription
Below is a picture of a common prescription. The only numbers required for single vision glasses are OD SPH, OS SPH and PD. If you have numbers for CYL and AXIS, this means you have astigmatism. These two numbers always go together - if you have one, you'll have the other. If you have a number for ADD, that means you need bifocals or progressive lenses. If you would like to still order just single vision lenses, omit the ADD number. If you have only one line of numbers, that means you have the same prescription in each eye.
