What our customers are saying

I have always wanted a pair of prescription sunglasses, but couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars. The ones at Just Eyewear were $51.00 with tax and shipping. And, the sunglasses themselves are stylish and durable. I absolutely love them!

Ordering prescription sunglasses is easy - it's just like ordering a normal pair of eyeglasses. You'll notice we don't have a separate section for sunglasses. That's because our entire catalog is available as sunglasses, in both polarized and non-polarized options. Just follow the directions to the left, make a couple choices about the lenses, and voila! Your new prescription sunglasses will be on your doorstep before you know it.

When buying sunglasses, there are two important things to consider:

  • Does the lens block UV light?
  • How well does the lens block visible light?

As for the first consideration, all of our glasses, whether sunglasses or not, come with free UV Protective coating, so you're covered there. For the second question, it depends on the type of lens you select.

Polarized vs. Non-Polarized Lenses

We recommend those buying prescription sunglasses to choose polarized lenses. Polarized lenses filter out certain types of light, specifically reflections off of horizontal surfaces such as car hoods, lake surfaces, roads, etc. The lenses actually prevent the light from passing through. This, combined with a tint, makes for the best pair of sunglasses. To choose polarized lenses, just select Polarized Sunglasses under Lens Type when choosing your lens options.

You don't need to get polarized lenses though. When selecting the Lens Type, you can also just choose one of the other options (Standard, Thin Polycarbonate, or Super Thin 1.67) and still select a tint to create a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Tint and Transitions

The second step to creating your sunglasses is to select the color tint you want under Tint. You can choose a brown or gray solid tint, a brown or gray gradient tint (this is where the tint is lighter at the bottom and darker at the top), or a Transitions lens, which is a lens that is clear indoors and then gets dark when you step into the sunlight. Note: Polarized and Transitions are not available together, unfortunately.

That's it! You're all set to order your new pair of sunglasses!
